The difference between a baking tray and a steaming tray
Different functions: steaming tray is heated by steam and needs water to work, while baking tray is heated by heating tube to set temperature and then heated continuously.
If they are all edible grade stainless steel, the material should be similar. The baking pan is not porous, and the steaming pan is very porous. Roasting pans are usually used in ovens to hold meat ingredients. Steaming pans are often used in steamers because steam works. However, the plates must be perforated to allow steam to pass through smoothly, and then the food can be heated and steamed.
